COMMON QUESTIONS
Everything about Jupiter Poker and on-chain Solana poker
What is Jupiter Poker? +
Jupiter Poker is a decentralized, provably fair poker platform built on Solana. Players compete in Texas Hold'em and Omaha cash games, sit-and-gos, and multi-table tournaments with real SOL stakes. Every hand is settled on-chain in under 400ms. Non-custodial, audited, live at jupiter-poker.com.
How is Jupiter Poker provably fair on Solana? +
Jupiter Poker uses Solana's Verifiable Random Function (VRF) for every card shuffle. The randomness seed is derived from Solana block hash entropy — no server-side RNG. Any player can independently verify any hand's card sequence, VRF proof, and pot settlement using our open-source verifier tool published on GitHub.
What wallets can I use to play on Jupiter Poker? +
Jupiter Poker supports all major Solana wallets: Phantom (recommended), Solflare, Backpack, Ledger hardware wallet, Glow, Coin98, Trust Wallet, and any wallet compatible with the Solana Wallet Adapter. Connect your wallet at jupiter-poker.com to start playing immediately — no account registration or KYC required.
How quickly are poker hand payouts settled? +
Jupiter Poker settles every hand on Solana mainnet in under 400 milliseconds — one block time. When you win a pot, SOL is transferred directly to your connected wallet before the next hand begins. There are no withdrawal queues, no pending periods, and no minimum withdrawal amounts.
What is the rake at Jupiter Poker? +
Jupiter Poker's maximum rake is 2% of the pot, capped at 4 SOL per hand. Micro-stakes tables (blinds under 0.05/0.1 SOL) run 1% rake. This is significantly lower than centralized crypto poker platforms which typically charge 3–5% rake. Tournament juice (entry fee) is also capped at 10% of the buy-in.
What poker games are available on Jupiter Poker? +
Jupiter Poker offers No-Limit Texas Hold'em (the most popular format), Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO Hi and PLO Hi-Lo), Sit-and-Go tournaments (9-max, 6-max, Turbo, Hyper-Turbo), and Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) with guaranteed prize pools. New game formats like Short Deck and Seven-Card Stud are on the governance roadmap.
How do I deposit SOL to play at Jupiter Poker? +
Connect your Solana wallet to jupiter-poker.com. There is no traditional deposit — your SOL stays in your wallet until you sit at a table. When you join a table, the buy-in amount is locked in an audited smart contract escrow for the duration of your session. When you leave, funds return to your wallet instantly.
What are the minimum and maximum buy-ins at Jupiter Poker? +
Cash game buy-ins range from 0.01 SOL (micro-stakes NL2 tables) up to 200 SOL for high-stakes NLHE tables. Tournament buy-ins start at free (freerolls) and go up to 100 SOL for major events. Table buy-in minimums and maximums are shown in the lobby for each game. Sit-and-gos have fixed buy-ins from 0.5 SOL to 50 SOL.
What is the JPTR token and how do I earn it? +
JPTR is Jupiter Poker's governance and staking token on Solana. You earn JPTR by playing (rakeback in JPTR), referring players (25% of their rake), completing achievement challenges, and participating in freeroll promotions. JPTR can be staked to earn from rake pool income, tournament prize backing, or locked as veJPTR for governance rights.
How does JPTR staking work and what APY can I earn? +
JPTR staking has three products: Rake Pool Staking (22.4% APY, paid weekly in SOL from cash game rake), Tournament Prize Backing (34.8% APY, 30-day lock, backs guaranteed tournament prize pools), and veJPTR Governance (14.2% base APY, up to 3× boost with a 4-year lock, plus fee revenue share and voting power). APYs fluctuate with table volume.
What is the Jupiter Poker referral program? +
Jupiter Poker's referral program pays 25% of referred players' lifetime rake back to you in SOL — permanently, not just for the first month. There's no cap on earnings. Generate your referral link from the Rewards tab. Top referrers on Jupiter Poker earn hundreds of SOL per month from active players they refer.
What is rakeback at Jupiter Poker? +
Rakeback is a return of a portion of the rake you paid to the platform. Jupiter Poker returns 30% of your paid rake weekly as JPTR tokens by default. VIP players and veJPTR holders receive higher rakeback percentages — up to 50% for the highest lock tier. Rakeback is credited automatically every Monday and claimable from the Rewards tab.
Are there tournaments with guaranteed prize pools on Jupiter Poker? +
Yes. Jupiter Poker runs guaranteed tournaments daily. The Sunday Major guarantees 500 SOL regardless of registration numbers. Daily events include a 50 SOL GTD NLHE, a 100 SOL GTD PLO twice weekly, and hourly Sit-and-Go events. When tournaments overlay (less than expected entries), the JPTR Prize Backing stakers cover the guarantee and earn the overlay return.
Can I play Jupiter Poker anonymously? +
Yes. Jupiter Poker is fully non-custodial and does not require account registration, email, or KYC verification. Connect your Solana wallet and you're playing under your wallet address — displayed as a shortened address or a username you choose. Your SOL never leaves your custody until a hand starts. No personal data is collected.
What anti-collusion and anti-cheat measures does Jupiter Poker use? +
Jupiter Poker runs a real-time collusion detection system that analyzes on-chain hand histories for suspicious betting patterns — unusual fold frequencies, bet timing correlation between accounts, and chip dumping signatures. Flagged accounts trigger automatic table removal and fund escrow pending review. All hand data is public for independent analysis.
Does Jupiter Poker work on mobile? +
Yes. Jupiter Poker is fully playable in any mobile browser. Use Phantom Mobile's built-in browser for the best experience on iOS or Android. The table interface is optimized for touch screens with swipe-to-act gestures for fold, call, and raise. A dedicated native iOS and Android app is in development for release in Q2 2025.
How does the poker hand escrow smart contract work? +
When you sit at a Jupiter Poker table, your buy-in SOL is transferred to an audited Solana Program Library (SPL) escrow account unique to your table session. The contract logic controls all pot management, all-in side pots, and final pot distribution. The contract is fully open-source, audited by Otter Security and Halborn, and cannot be overridden by the Jupiter Poker team.
What are the Solana transaction fees for playing on Jupiter Poker? +
Solana base transaction fees are approximately $0.00025 per transaction — a fraction of a cent. Each hand's deal, bet, and settlement requires a small number of Solana transactions, with total gas costs per hand averaging under $0.002. This makes micro-stakes play economically viable in a way impossible on Ethereum-based poker platforms.
What is veJPTR governance and how does it work? +
veJPTR is received when you lock JPTR tokens for a period from 1 week to 4 years. The longer you lock, the more veJPTR you receive (proportional). veJPTR gives you boosted rakeback (up to 3× base), a share of 50% of all protocol rake paid in SOL, and voting power on Jupiter Poker governance proposals including rake rates, new game formats, and weekly tournament emission allocations.
What are Jupiter Poker NFT avatars and what benefits do they give? +
Jupiter Poker NFTs are Solana-based avatar NFTs that serve as VIP membership passes. Holding a Jupiter Poker NFT unlocks: access to NFT-holder exclusive tables, reduced rake (1.5% vs 2%), priority tournament registration, monthly freeroll invitations, and a share of 10% of secondary marketplace royalties distributed to all holders monthly. NFTs are tradeable on all major Solana NFT marketplaces.
How does Jupiter Poker handle a player going all-in with side pots? +
Jupiter Poker's smart contract handles multi-way all-in side pot calculations entirely on-chain. Side pots are created automatically when a short-stacked player goes all-in. Each side pot is settled independently in the correct order. The math is publicly verifiable and executed by the contract logic — not by any server that could potentially err or cheat.
Is Jupiter Poker a licensed gambling platform? +
Jupiter Poker is a decentralized, non-custodial protocol on Solana. As a peer-to-peer skill game settled on-chain, it operates outside traditional centralized gambling licensing frameworks. Players are responsible for compliance with their own local regulations regarding online poker and cryptocurrency. Jupiter Poker does not offer services to residents of jurisdictions where online poker is explicitly prohibited.
What is the difference between cash games and tournaments on Jupiter Poker? +
Cash games have fixed blind levels — you can join and leave anytime, and chips have direct SOL value. Tournaments have a fixed buy-in, increasing blinds, and you play until you bust or win. Tournaments offer large prize multipliers (top finishers win many times their buy-in) while cash games offer more control over session length and risk management.
What Texas Hold'em poker hand rankings does Jupiter Poker use? +
Jupiter Poker uses standard international poker hand rankings: Royal Flush (highest), Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, One Pair, High Card (lowest). Hand evaluations are computed by the Solana smart contract using a deterministic on-chain hand evaluator — the same logic that would be audited and verified in tournament play.
Does Jupiter Poker have a bad beat jackpot or progressive prize? +
Yes. Jupiter Poker's Bad Beat Jackpot is funded by a 0.1% contribution from every pot exceeding 10 SOL. The jackpot pays out when a qualifying hand (four-of-a-kind or better beaten by a better hand) occurs. The jackpot is split between the losing player (50%), the winning player (25%), and all other active players at the same table (25%). The current jackpot balance is displayed live in the lobby.
Can I play multiple tables simultaneously on Jupiter Poker? +
Yes. Jupiter Poker supports multi-tabling — playing at up to 4 tables simultaneously from the same wallet. The interface offers a grid view optimized for multi-tabling, with action buttons visible for all tables at once. Each table session uses a separate escrow account, so funds on different tables are independently managed and never pooled.
What happens to my chips if the internet disconnects during a hand? +
Each hand's action has a built-in timer. If you disconnect and your turn timer expires, Jupiter Poker automatically checks (if no bet was made) or folds (if facing a bet) on your behalf. Your remaining chip stack stays safe in the smart contract escrow — you reconnect and continue playing from your remaining balance. Disconnection protection features are on the governance roadmap.
How do I bridge funds to Solana to play on Jupiter Poker? +
If your funds are on Ethereum or another chain, use a cross-chain bridge like Portal Bridge (Wormhole), deBridge, or Allbridge to convert ETH/USDC to SOL on Solana mainnet. Alternatively, buy SOL directly from a centralized exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken) and withdraw to your Phantom or Solflare wallet address. The whole process typically takes under 10 minutes.
What are Jupiter Poker freerolls and how do I qualify? +
Jupiter Poker runs weekly free-to-enter (freeroll) tournaments with real SOL prize pools. All registered wallet holders qualify for the Saturday Freeroll (5 SOL GTD). Players who earned 10+ JPTR in the previous week qualify for the exclusive Monday JPTR Holders Freeroll (25 SOL GTD). NFT avatar holders receive an additional exclusive monthly freeroll (50 SOL GTD).
